For some people
to make their mark,
All it takes
is a dip of the brush
into the palette of watercolors,
and they can leave a gleaming streak
on a bright white canvas.
But my canvas is black.
So it takes layers and layers.
And I have to dip my brush
over
and over
and over
and over.
